Wisdom Tooth Extraction Dulwich Hill
Unfortunately in some circumstances, the tooth may be beyond saving and so the only course of action would be to remove the tooth from the mouth.
Reasons for Extracting a Tooth:
- Severe periodontal disease.
- Aggressive tooth decay.
- Structural damage.
- Orthodontic complications.
- Impacted wisdom teeth.
- Emergency situations.
- Full mouth reconstruction.
- Broken or cracked teeth.
To keep you as comfortable as possible, we use a local anesthetic during all of our tooth extractions. There will be no sensations other than pressure.
Extractions of teeth are a very common occurrence. They do, however, necessitate some downtime following your appointment. Take the remainder of the day off and bring an over-the-counter pain medication with you.
To keep swelling down, you may need to switch between cold and hot compresses every 20 minutes (inflammation is the most common cause of oral pain). Soft meals should be kept on hand for the first several days. Drinking via a straw, fizzy beverages, and hot meals should all be avoided since they might delay recovery.
